#1-The Reformers

Reformers are serious notetakers who force themselves to follow the learning process, even though it may not be the best format for them. They often have critical reviews for the teacher on how to improve the presentation. They actually learn best through physical experiences and humor.

#2-The Caretakers

Caretakers are visually supportive of the teacher and helpful to their fellow students. However, they have a restless energy that makes it hard for them to sit still for a presentation. They learn best through interactive personal involvement.

#3-The Accomplishers

Accomplishers are anxious to keep moving forward toward a productive goal. They are eager to learn but impatient with being taught. They usually claim to already know what is being taught. They learn best with a specific focus, an identified goal, and an avenue to put the new learning into practice.

#4-The Originals

The Originals appreciate a distinctive presentation with a unique format and are dismissively judgmental if the presentation does not measure up to their high expectations. They value a meaningful personal interaction which respects the individual. They learn best through imaging, artwork, journaling and meaningful sharing experiences.

#5-The Observers

Observers are serious, quiet learners who rarely ask questions. They listen and love to hear facts, theories, and concepts. They relate the new material to previously known information and see the future ramifications involved. They learn best on their own. With a gentle invitation from a teacher they trust, they may become involved.

#6-The Cooperators / Rebels

Cooperators/Rebels focus on and interact primarily with the teacher. They ask questions for clarification, or sometimes to debate the point or challenge the teacher. They will take part in socially interactive experiences if they trust the teacher and the expectations are clear.

#7-The Experiencers

Experiencers are delighted to learn anything new. They are mentally busy making associations and connections to other resources. They tend to verbalize as they learn. Though enthusiastic, they are also easily distracted learners. They learn best when the pace is fast and the presentation is creative and enjoyable.

#8-The Bosses

Bosses are easily resistant to passive, dependent learning processes. They are bored easily if not active in the process. The best situations for their learning are ones that provide dynamic experiential activity and movement. They are more forthcoming with their own insights after they have been experientially involved.

#9-The Peacemakers

Peacemakers go with the flow but often do not retain the material unless their own energy is involved. Though they give the appearance of presence to the process, they are actually not attending. They learn best when their passions are awakened through personal stories, one on one sharing, or individual focus on them.
